Before 69,368 fans, Brazil defeated Chile 4-0 as part of the 17th round of the South American Qualifiers for the World Cup, at the Maracanã stadium this Thursday night (Mar. 24). The match was the last in front of their fans, as the preparatory games for the World Cup will be held overseas.
Neymar, Vinícius Jr., Coutinho, and Richarlison scored at Maracanã stadium.
Having brought yet another victory behind them, coach Tite’s team keep an important record: not losing at home in qualifying matches (in 62 home games in the competition, Brazil won 50 and tied in 12). Moreover, with the three points from this win, the seleção reach 42 points—seven ahead of second-place Argentina, who will face Venezuela on Friday (25).
Brazil is expected to return to the field next Tuesday (29), on their visit to Bolivia in La Paz for the last round of the South American World Cup Qualifiers.
